Randy Childs was named the 2020 Business Leader of the Year today at the Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce annual meeting.

Randy Childs owns a group of businesses, many of which have spun off from the original RANCO Tent business he began with his brother Tommie over four decades ago.
His main three divisions now are RANCO Event Rentals, which handles everything you need for a wedding, corporate event or festival. The second division is RANCO Response, which is his fastest growing division and focuses solely on disaster response throughout the United States. The third is RANCO Logistics, which handles keeping his equipment and fleet of vehicles ready to respond.
Eagle Restrooms is the newest venture. He has collaborated with his wife Deidra and his sister Brownie Childs Bryant. They have offices in Statesboro and Orlando, Florida. Eagle Restrooms provides executive restrooms for upscale events.

EGRMC 2020 Business of the Year
East Georgia Regional Medical Center was named the 2020 business of the year for their tireless effort in helping our community weather the COVID pandemic. EGRMC CEO Stephen Pennington accepted the award on behalf of the EGRMC team.
"Together our team at EGRMC is working to make our hospital the best hospital in the world. This recognition is certainly appreciated. Having the opportunity to work with some of the dedicated team members is certainly an honor", said Stephen Pennington. "We appreciate the opportunity to serve this community and region."

Three companies were recognized for stepping up to help local businesses during the early days of the pandemic. Each of these businesses helped the chamber and our community in extraordinary ways.

Grice Connect receive Chamber Spirit Award
Grice Connect was awarded the Chamber Spirit Award for our support of the chamber and local businesses throughout the pandemic and 2020. From live feeds of chamber events to providing information daily on COVID's impact of our community. We were recognized for having the Spirt of our community at heart. We are honored to be recognized today for our commitment to our community.
Whitfield Signs Hosted Annual Meeting
Josh Whitfield, the 2019 Business Leader of the Year and his team at Whitfield signs transformed their warehouse into a meeting space to host the meeting. Dolan's Bar-B-Que catered the event and Bulloch Solutions was the primary sponsor for the luncheon.
Jared Benko, GS Director of Athletics Keynotes Meeting
Jared Benko, Director of Athletics for Georgia Southern was the keynote speaker and shared the excitement and opportunities provided to our community through athletics. He shared the upcoming bowl possibilities for football and recognized GS Gold and Rifle team for leading the nation in rankings.
He closed by asking everyone to do three things for Georgia Southern:
- Buy Tickets to athletic events
- Join Erk Russell Fund for as low as $5 per month
- Get others to do the same
Incoming Board of Directors
Senator Billy Hickman read the oath of office for the incoming board of directors for the chamber.
Local attorney Chris Gohagan with Taulbee, Rushing, Snipes, Marsh & Hodgin, served at the 2020 Chair of the chamber and Mandy Fortune with Citizens Bank of the South is the 2021 incoming Chamber Board Chair.
