The City of Statesboro has announced plans to make improvements to West Main Street. Even though the public comment period has ended, citizens can review the renderings and project plans here. Citizens' input was sought at the public meeting and online.
The City of Statesboro has contracted Cranston, an Augusta-based civil engineering and planning firm, to manage the streetscape project. Proposed improvements to the downtown street include decorative streetlights, benches, and landscaping, as well as drainage improvements, utility relocations as needed, and traffic engineering enhancements.
The project’s primary focus will be in the area of West Main Street from the intersections of North Main and South College Streets.
The City of Statesboro hosted a public info meeting on Thursday, November 14, 2024, to discuss the proposed streetscape improvements. You can view the recording of that meeting below.
