A premium London dry gin will make its Savannah debut with the help of the godson to her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“Join us on March 23 for an unforgettable evening. We look forward to welcoming guests to enjoy an evening of exceptional food, acclaimed spirits and incomparable company,” said Hans Raina, general manager at Garibaldi Savannah.

Carnarvon is the eighth Earl of Carnarvon and lives in Highclere Castle, which is also the set of the hit television series, Downton Abbey.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Lord Carnarvon to Savannah,” said Raina.

Carnarvon, the godson to her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, runs Highclere Castle and the surrounding 5,000-acre estate with his wife, Fiona, the Countess of Carnarvon.

“I am so looking forward to visiting Savannah,” said Lord Carnarvon. “Savannah is the oldest city in Georgia and was named for King George II, whose wife Caroline stayed at Highclere. I am sure the parks and buildings in Savannah will remind me of Highclere, and it will be wonderful to explore the city and admire the trees and landscape.”

He and the Highclere Castle Gin team spent more than two years developing the gin using botanicals from Highclere’s famous gardens. The premium dry gin was created in collaboration with England’s oldest gin distillery.

The special reception will include appetizers, cocktails and live music. The Garibaldi Savannah is located in the heart of Savannah’s National Historic Landmark District at 315 W. Congress St.

Tickets for the event are $125 and guests are asked to attend in cocktail attire. For more information, click here
