MEET WINTER HALL

Winter Hall was born and raised in Millen, GA. She married her high school sweetheart, James Hall, in 2005 and they have two children, Burke (11) and Chloe (8). The couple have called Statesboro home for the last thirteen years. In 2017, their dream of owning a t-shirt company came true when they started “2Fish Apparel,” a local custom t-shirt, embroidery, and promotional products company. Her business degree and his printing degree help serve them well as they continue to grow their business, focusing on customer service and quality.

From volunteering for T.R.A.C. to serving at church, Winter has always had a passion for helping others. Her hope and prayer is that others will realize how loved and valued they are by God, even when they don’t feel like it. Last year, she wrote a book called “Made for More: Finding Hope in the Midst of Darkness.” She hopes to inspire others through the struggles of   losing a loved one (her father), but also the everyday struggles they may face in life. So often it’s so hard to speak up when you are going through a difficult time, as it was for me. Through the writing of this book, she hopes to inspire others to speak up, and seek help if needed. By participating in Dancing with the Stars, she hopes to bring awareness to not only domestic violence, but also teen dating violence. Love Should Never Hurt!

Winter is excited to be involved with such an amazing organization as Safe Haven and is grateful for the opportunity to support them by DWTSS.

MEET KATIE BYERS

Katie Byers is a Statesboro native and grew up dancing at Southern Style Dance Academy. She is a Statesboro High School and Georgia Southern graduate, earning a degree in public relations. Katie is married to her husband Jake, and together they have a 5-year-old girl named Chloe, as well as their dog, Spud and cat, Sammy. She is currently employed as an events planner at SCAD.

Katie’s dance career began at the age of four with training in tap, jazz, ballet, and later on in contemporary and hip hop. After graduating high school, she was given an opportunity to travel and perform around the world with the organization ‘Up with People’. While traveling, Katie was trained in Bollywood and other various styles of cultural dancing. After her travels, Katie danced on the Georgia Southern Dance Team while completing her undergrad.

This is Katie’s fifth year as a Dance Pro with Dancing with the Statesboro Stars, and is ecstatic to be back!
