According to Hube's presentation Bulloch County was formed in 1796. Since the formation there have been four courthouse structures in Statesboro since the city was formed in 1803.
The first courthouse was a wood structure built in 1804 in Statesboro.

The second courthouse was a larger wooden building built in 1807, but was destroyed by fire during the Civil War in 1864.

The third courthouse was another wooden building built in 1866.
The fourth courthouse was constructed in 1894 to 1895.
The courthouse building faces south and is a three story red colored brick and concrete structure. The building is located on the Courthouse Square in the center of Statesboro.
The original courthouse was designed very similarly to the Talbot County Courthouse.

The original courthouse was designed with a clock tower but there was no clock. Funds were raised in 1897 to purchase and install the clock. The original clock had to be manually wound once per week until the town got electricity.
The building was enlarged and remodeled in 1914. The architect was Hosford & Company of Eastman and the contractor was Rogers & Simmons of McRae.
