Archibald Bulloch Chapter of NSDAR hosts Georgia Day luncheon

Over 70 people attended the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution celebration

The Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) celebrated Georgia Day February 16, 2023, at the First Baptist Church with over 70 people attending.

Mary Lou Goehring, Hochston, Georgia, presented the program “Women Pirates.” Also celebrated at this luncheon was Linda Akins, for her many years of dedicated service to the chapter. She and Ida Waters began the Georgia Day Luncheon twenty-five years ago; so she was doubly honored. She was radiant with all her family at her table. Many guests were present from other chapters in the area. Georgia Day is officially February 12, the day General James Oglethorpe landed in Savannah.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a lineage and service organization. Any woman wishing to join must prove her lineage to someone who supported the American Revolutionary War in some way. Anyone interested in more information may contact Martha Wells at 912-536-0313.
