Bryce Leatherwood, Georgia native and recent graduate from GS in May of this year, on Tuesday night was named the winner of "The Voice" competition on NBC. Leatherwood defeated four other finalists to win "The Voice."

Bryce's blind audition captivated "the judges" attention. He turned three chairs and landed on Team Blake.

"What really made me want to sing and perform on the show and audition was just to want to succeed and to do this for the rest of my life."

“It was on a wish and a prayer,” Leatherwood recently told 11Alive News, an NBC affiliate based in Atlanta. “What really made me want to sing and perform on the show and audition was just to want to succeed and to do this for the rest of my life. What a golden opportunity it was and has been.”

"To everyone who has been voting, thank you all so much," Leatherwood said. "This has been a dream come true for me to represent Georgia and to represent my hometown."

Earlier in the week Leatherwood reached out to his fans encouraging them to continue voting for him. He was ready to bring it all home.

“I want to win this thing for y'all, so let's go do it," Leatherwood said. He's ready to win "The Voice" and record his first album, while never forgetting his Georgia country roots.

"The Voice" finale was broadcast nationally on NBC on Tuesday night December 13, 2022.
