Plank and Tile will host their second annual Tinsel and Tidings holiday market event to celebrate the holiday season on Thursday, December 1. The event will be from 5-7:30pm at Plank and Tile (9020 US 301-S, Statesboro).

Tinsel and Tidings is a vendor event that provides an opportunity for local small businesses and artisans to showcase their products for the community, as well as for locals to “shop small” for the holidays. After an outstanding turnout last year, Plank and Tile owners decided to host this event again this year.

“Last year, we had the idea to host a vendor market for local businesses to showcase their products and encourage people to shop local for the holidays,” Ashlee Corbin, Plank and Tile Marketing & Sales Executive, said. “By keeping booth prices low, we were able to attract almost 20 vendors last year.”

Corbin said the company wanted to offer this opportunity in a family-friendly environment. It is a free event, but if attendees pre-register for their ticket, they will receive an extra entry into the door prize drawings.

There will be more than 20 vendors on site again this year, along with two food trucks for customers to purchase something sweet or savory and a bouncy house for the kids.

“As a local business, we want to support other local businesses; that was the inspiration behind this event,” Corbin said. “Following the difficult holiday season of 2020, we felt like independent businesses and shoppers alike needed something fun to look forward to and enjoy themselves while also being able to mark Christmas gifts off their lists!”

Kristi Brown, Operations Manager, said that the company loves giving back to the community that has sustained them over the last few years, and Tinsel and Tidings will provide another fun opportunity to do so.

More on Plank and Tile

This company opened its doors in early 2016. Plank and Tile is a local retail flooring store. Since opening, the company has revamped and now gives local citizens an easier way to build or remodel a home. Since last year, they’ve expanded into the lighting and plumbing business.

“We have also added custom blinds and cabinet hardware,” Brown said. “We love our customers, and we work hard every day to help them bring their visions to life.  Our culture highlights teamwork, respect for one another, and education for our staff so that we can accomplish this goal and love what we do every day!”
