Coroner 1

On Monday, August 1, 2022 Bulloch County 911 received a call requesting a welfare check on an elderly couple in the Leefield community of Bulloch County. They dispatched Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies, Bulloch County EMS and Bulloch County Fire first responders at 2:55 pm to modular home in the 100 block of Tall Timbers Lane.

First responders, Paramedics and deputies on the scene determined that both the husband and wife had died. They requested Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch to the scene.

Coroner Futch identified the elderly couple as Larry and Mary Greer, both in their 80's who lived in the modular home with no air conditioning.

Futch determined the cause of death for both the husband and the wife were heat strokes.

The Greer's were last seen on Friday afternoon. Coroner Futch believes both of them died sometime on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements for the couple.

Grice Connect extends our condolences to the family and friends of the Greer's.
