Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo ready to thrill fans Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights

Tickets are available for the expanded three night Rodeo on Thursday, April 25th, Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th.

Limited tickets will be sold in person at McKeithen’s Hardware located at 58 Independence Way, Statesboro and Taylor’s Sunset Tanning located at 22312 US Highway 80 E Statesboro.

Ticket prices will be $20 for adults and $15 for children aged 4-13. Children aged 3 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket.

The rodeo will be hosted at the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex located at 44 Arena Boulevard for the third year in a row.  Gates open at 5:00 PM each night.

Exciting three nights

The 2023 Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo had record-breaking fundraising power for the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro, and the club aims to continue that success. The 13th Annual Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo is platinum sponsor is Virginia Luxe Boutique and Gold Sponsors are Aspen Aerogels, J.C. Lewis Ford and Ginny & Georgia Junior Boutique.

Rodeo Chairman Jonathen Bunch, said, “I’m proud to have been selected chairman of the 13th Annual Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo. We are making some exciting changes to the rodeo format this year with the addition of a third night of rodeo. This year, we will have a show on Thursday night in addition to the traditional Friday and Saturday night rodeos!”

Community fundraiser

The Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo is a fundraiser hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro. All profits are donated back into the community of Statesboro and surrounding area. The Rodeo is one of two main fundraisers hosted by Statesboro Kiwanis.

Club President Matt Anderson said, “There never was a horse that couldn't be ridden; never was a cowboy that couldn't be thrown! We are excited to host our 13th annual Kiwanis Rodeo at the Bulloch County Ag Arena. This year we are hosting a 3 day rodeo! To top that off we are adding Breakaway Roping to the Rodeo lineup. This is going to be our 1st of two annual fundraisers for this year. The best part about this event is the fact that it helps us give back to our community each year. We hope that everyone will come out and bring the family to a full night of Rodeo Fun!"

Award winning rodeo company

Danny Hedrick, owner of Hedrick Rodeo, returns as the rodeo contractor for the 13th year with its award winning stock. In mid-February of 2022, Hedrick Rodeo attended the American Roughstock Association Finals and won several awards for the 2022 rodeo season. These awards include: Bareback Horse of the Finals, Bareback Horse of the Year, Saddle Bronc Horse of the Finals, Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year. Justin Hedrick, son of Danny Hedrick, was awarded the PickUp Man of the Year Award.

In its 13th year, the rodeo will bring championship professional competition, with riders from all over the world competing in bull riding, bronc riding, calf roping, barrel racing and more. “It’s one of my favorite events. The breakaway is really fast-paced and it’s a fun event.,” said Hedrick.

The family-oriented rodeo will also include some fun kids’ events, Miss Rodeo USA 2024 Kaelanne Quinonez and lots of exceptional bulls and bucking horses raised by Hedrick himself.

Kaelanne spoke to members of the Stateboro Kiwanis Club at their lunch meeting on Thursday, April 25, 2024.  She told the Kiwanians that she is excited about seeing some of the past world champions who are coming to compete at the Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo this year.  She said they are the Best of the Best.  Rodeo fans will also be able to see bulls and bucking horses that have been the the international finals rodeo.

The Texas native considers it the honor of her life to be able to travel the country representing the second largest rodeo association in North America.  She has a Master's degree in business and hopes to continue her career marketing and representing rodeo's across the country after giving up her Miss Rodeo USA title.

She will be attending the rodeo nightly and is looking forward to meeting rodeo fans of all ages.
