WEATHER ALERT: Storms expected in Bulloch Tuesday

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF BRYAN, EVANS, LIBERTY, BULLOCH, EFFINGHAM, CHATHAM, LONG AND TATTNALL COUNTIES

Corey Kemp, Bulloch County EMA Director has issued a weather alert for Bulloch County.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 along a warm front this morning and lift to the northeast across southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina through late morning hours. A few of these thunderstorms could become strong enough to produce damaging wind gusts, and perhaps a tornado.

Additional thunderstorms could impact the area late afternoon into evening hours. During this activity, damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat though small hail will also be possible.  

At 844 AM EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm near Gumbranch, or near Fort Stewart, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...strong winds 45 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar Indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects.

Some locations in the path of this storm include...Hinesville, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Glennville, Pembroke, Savannah International Airport, Fort Stewart, and I-16/I-95 Interchange.

This storm may intensify. Be certain to monitor local radio and TV stations as well as local cable TV outlets for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
