The National Weather Service in Charleston issued Tornado Watch which will be in effect until 9 pm Thursday, September 26, 2024. Bulloch also remains under a tropical storm warning.
Hurricane Helene is forecasted to make landfall Thursday evening in the Big Bend area and is expected to bring strong winds, tornadoes, and periods of heavy rain to Southeast South Carolina and Southeast Georgia. There is a high risk of tornadoes associated with Helene, with the risk increasing this afternoon and peaking tonight into early Friday morning.
