Bulloch County Schools have announced that all students and employees will have a half-day on Thursday, September 26, followed by a full closure on Friday, September 27. The decision comes after guidance from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), which recommended early dismissal and school closures for areas south of Macon.

On Thursday, all schools will dismiss two hours earlier than usual, applying to both car and bus riders. Families are encouraged to plan for this adjusted schedule to ensure a smooth and efficient dismissal. Additionally, there will be no after-school activities on Thursday, and the Board of Education's work session, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been canceled.

At this time, Friday’s extracurricular events remain uncertain, and individual schools will provide updates on those as the situation develops.

Bulloch County Schools emphasized the importance of providing students with learning opportunities, meals, and social interactions during the shortened school day on Thursday. However, the safety of students and staff remains the top priority.

Families and employees are encouraged to stay updated on further developments through official communications from Bulloch County Schools and local media outlets.

Schools plan to resume normal operations and welcome students and staff back on Monday, September 30.
