The Swingin’ Medallions are no strangers to the City of Statesboro or to the Downtown Live Stage! They’ll be returning to the stage on Thursday, June 27, 2024 for the fifth concert in this year’s series with their fun blend of beach, rock and pop music.

Downtown Live is scheduled from April through September with a total of eight concerts taking place on select Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. The concerts will be held on East Main Street in front of the Bulloch County Courthouse and are open to the public.

The Swingin’ Medallions have been making music since 1962, with new and different members stepping in to replace those that have retired or left the band. Their 1966 song, “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love”, made the group famous with 1.5 million albums sold.

"The Downtown Alive Concert series is important to bring citizens into the center of the City to enjoy the entertainment and create a sense of community, while also exposing the citizens to businesses in the downtown area.,” said Charles Penny, Statesboro City Manager. “Citizens get to see downtown alive after 5:00 p.m. and can be with more events occurring in the center city. We are trying to provide a consistent opportunity for people to come downtown."

Grab your dancing shoes and lawn chair and join the fun in Downtown Statesboro this summer. Admission to the concerts is open to the public. Food trucks and vendors will open at 6:00 p.m. on the day of the event with several downtown restaurants also within walking distance of the concert stage. Downtown Live is a family-friendly event for all ages.
