Georgia Southern men's golfers Wilson Andress, Brantley Baker and Mason Williams have been named Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-District, it was announced today by the organization.
A two-time GCAA All-American Scholar, Andress was named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) in all 10 semesters at Georgia Southern. The fifth-year senior was named first-team All-Sun Belt and posted three top-10 finishes this season, including his first collegiate win in the Gopher Invitational. Andress recorded six top-25 finishes, including a T14 at the NCAA Salem Regional, and shot par or better in 22 of 33 rounds this season. He graduated with a 4.0 grade point average in civil engineering and was named to the Sun Belt Commissioner's List for four consecutive years.
Baker recorded two top-20 finishes, including a T19 at the Sun Belt Championship and a T16 at the Old Town Club Collegiate, and has shot par or better in nine rounds. The sophomore carded a team-leading 67 in the first round of the NCAA Salem Regional. He carries a 3.69 grade point average and has earned Georgia Southern Dean's List honors three times, President's List accolades in one semester and was named to the 2021-22 Sun Belt Commissioner's List.
Named first-team All-Sun Belt for the second straight season, Williams posted five top-10 finishes this season and three top-5s, including a T1 at the Gators Invitational and third-place finish at Sun Belt Championship. The fifth-year senior shot a 63 in the second round on his way to T7 at the Old Town Club Collegiate and carded par or better in 25 of 33 rounds. Williams graduated with a 3.51 grade point average in management. He earned GCAA All-American Scholar accolades in the last three seasons and is a three-time selection to the Sun Belt Commissioner's List.
The trio will advance to national balloting for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on June 21. To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District At-Large honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA at their institution.
