The Southeast Bulloch girls soccer team hosted Screven County on Tuesday, February 18th. Head Coach, Aimee Civalier reached a significant milestone with Tuesday's win. The 2-0 victory marked coach Civalier's 100th career win as SEB girls soccer coach.
Civalier coached her first all girls soccer team in 2002 and had a record of 2-26. She continued to coach up until 2010 and resumed in 2022. Over the last couple of seasons, SEB girls soccer has been playing at a very high level.
Coming into Tuesday's game, the Lady Jackets were riding a 2-0 start to the season. Emma Cate scored the first goal of the game off an assist by Brooke Burns. Sarah Arsenault scored the second goal off a pass from Hali Long.
Daisy Calhoun led the charge defensively with her 8 saves.
Coach Civalier spoke on what has been the catalyst to the hot start from her team. "I like our defense working as a unit starting with Daisy as our goalkeeper and Mya, Jakiela and Brooke Burns as our center back defenders taking charge and handling the opposing offensive threats," Civalier said. The Lady Jackets have shutout every opponent that they have faced this season.
"Our offense is able to get really good scoring opportunities and I would like to see them finish a little efficiently, but so far we are coming out on top," Civalier said.
