SEBHS Girls Tennis sweeps White County to advance to Elite 8

The Southeast Bulloch High School girls tennis team punched their ticket to the Elite 8 of the AAA Division with a dominant 4-0 sweep over White County in the Sweet 16 on Tuesday.

The Southeast Bulloch High School girls tennis team is headed to the Elite 8 of the AAA Division after a commanding 4-0 victory over White County in the Sweet 16 on Tuesday.

Rylee Veland set the tone for the Yellow Jackets with a strong performance at first singles, dropping just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win. Her quick and dominant play gave SEB an early lead and momentum that would carry through the rest of the match.

The first doubles team of Sydney Kate Aaron and Lydia Fowler followed with a decisive 6-0, 6-3 victory to extend the Jackets’ advantage. After about 15 minutes of continued play, SEB clinched the match with two more wins.

Laina Erickson and Addie Smith battled to a hard-fought 6-4, 6-2 win at second doubles, and almost simultaneously, Anna Grace Bosley closed out her second singles match to complete the sweep.

With the win, the SEBHS girls continue their playoff run and will now face North Hall in the Elite 8. The match is scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 p.m. on Southeast Bulloch’s home courts, located at 9184 Brooklet-Denmark Highway in Brooklet.
