LAST TIME OUT

The Eagles competed in the USF-Rawlings Invitational against five different teams going 2-3 on the weekend. Georgia Southern picked up wins against Illinois State and #22 Michigan while falling to Delaware, South Florida, and #2 Florida. The Eagle offense tallied double digit hits (10) against Illinois State, the most since last season's 2-0 win over App State.  Bailey Holland held #2 Florida to just four runs on eight hits. The Gators plated one run in the opening frame but were held scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning plating three runs in the inning, to make it 4-0. Freshman Payton Cushman led Georgia Southern at the USF-Rawlings Invitational batting .375 (6-for-16) including three doubles.

GO TRUE BLUE

Georgia Southern picked up a ranked, 2-0, win over #22 Michigan on Sunday at the USF-Rawlings Invitational. Maddie Johnson tossed a complete game shutout scattering nine hits and striking out four. The Wolverines put runners on every inning but the Georgia Southern defense forced 10 runners left on base. The ranked wins marks the first since the 2022 season after the Eagles defeated #23 Louisiana, 12-10. The last ranked shutout came in the 2016 with a win over #8 Louisiana.
