Georgia Southern’s softball team has come out on top after the 2023 Bash in the Boro on Sunday.

Dejah Mills' two-out RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning capped a perfect weekend for Georgia Southern softball in the final game.

The Eagles went 5-0 in the tournament, knocking off LIU for a second time on the weekend. In Sunday's other game, Radford defeated Bryant by a score of 7-4.

The Sharks took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on Dallas Andrews' two-out, two-run single up the middle. The Eagles got one back in the bottom of the first on Dejah Mills' sacrifice fly.

Georgia Southern tied things up in the bottom of the third on Emily Greek's RBI double to left center.

The score remained tied at two-all heading into the eighth inning, the second straight extra-inning game for the Eagles. LIU took a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth on Gabby Padilla's infield single, scoring Mari Narvaiz from second base.

The Eagles tied it up in the bottom of the eighth inning on Faith Barth's RBI single, scoring pinch runner Janiyah Strong from second.

With the bases loaded and two out, Mills hit the first pitch she saw from LIU reliever Kira Buckner (1-3) into the right-center gap for the second straight extra-inning walk-off win for Georgia Southern.

Morgan Kendrick (2-0) notched the win for the Eagles in relief, giving up one hits and one unearned run, striking out one. Buckner took the loss for the Sharks, giving up six hits and two runs - one unearned - in 4 2/3 innings of work, walking three and striking out six.

Faith Barth went three for five with an RBI to lead the Eagles offensively, while Emma Davis and Brooke Kell each had two hits apiece. For more information, click here
