The Georgia Southern baseball team fell to the West Virginia Mountaineers 13-4 on Sunday afternoon at J.I. Clements Stadium.
Georgia Southern (2-1) got on the board first when Noah Ledford hit a monster home run over the Blue Monster, giving the Eagles the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. However, WVU (1-2) would respond with two straight HRs in the top of the second inning and the top of the third inning to take the lead, 4-2.
GS would respond in the bottom of the third inning when a Sam Blancato groundout would plate J.C. Peacher, closing the gap at 3-2. However, WVU would plate four more runs after that to take a 8-3 lead against GS.
The Eagles would score one in the bottom of the seventh inning thanks to a Jonathan Jaime walk with the bases loaded, but the Mountaineers would score four more to push the final to 13-4.
