Bulloch County Schools Showed out at the GHSA Cross Country State Championships on Saturday, November 9, in Carrollton, GA to run the 5K.
Portal Panthers (A, Division 2, Region 3)
The Portal Panthers had both their women’s and men’s teams present at the state championships. This season was an awesome feat for head coach, Shannon Davis, and her assistant coaches Jenn Scott, Sarah Chester, and Matt Haddock.

Athletic Director Justin Chester had this to say about the team: “These kids put in the work all summer long and stayed the course throughout the entire season."
Coach Shannon Davis is retiring after this year, so her team’s success this season was quite the send off.
Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets (AAA, Region 3)
The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets had both their women’s and men’s teams present at the state championships as well. The Yellow Jacket’s Women’s team finished 16th overall out of 24 teams. The Yellow Jackets Men’s team finished 13th overall out of 24 teams.

Assistant Coach Josh Burnham talked about this year's team.
"They've had a solid season with boys taking region champs and girls being region runner up in the region 3-AAA," Burnham said. "Coaches Laurie Pitts and Janelle Aldridge have done a great job working with this group. The boy's team are graduating a crew of 5 senior boys."
Statesboro STEAM Academy Dragons (A, Division 2)
The Statesboro STEAM Academy Dragons had one representative for both the women’s and the men’s divisions respectively.
