Mr. Thomas (Tommy) Lee Wilson, 75, of Brooklet, GA, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on May 02, 1949 in Statesboro, GA to the late Perry and Carry Wilson. Tommy grew up most of his life in the Stilson area where he built his own family and career.
Tommy had much love for his wife, Betty Wilson, of 55 years and his two sons, Stacy Wilson and Stephen Wilson. Tommy had a successful career with working 20 years with Great Dane followed by 20 years with the Georgia Department of Transportation. During all of his years Tommy enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping with his wife and two boys and then was able to share that love and joy with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. But when there was down time, there were always westerns on the TV.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Carry Wilson. Siblings, Janie Pope (James) and Jeff Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Scherback Wilson; Sons, Stacy Wilson (Amy) and Stephen Wilson (Heather); Grandchildren Amber Foss (Louis), Logan Wilson (Anna), Hunter Howell, and Jordyn Wilson, Hannah Williams (Brandon), Preston Finch, and Carleigh Finch; Great Grandchildren Wrenley Foss, Colt Williams, and Bodie Williams. Along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Monday from 1:00pm until the funeral hour at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Dixon officiating.
Interment will be in the Immanuel Baptist Church Cemetery in Brooklet.
Pallbearers: Logan Wilson, Hunter Howell, Louis Foss, Leslie Teston, Christopher Teston, Stan Cooper.
