Joseph Ivy Anderson, Jr, age 32, passed away on Wednesday, April 9 2025, at his home in Statesboro, Georgia.
Joe was born on October 12, 1992 in Statesboro, GA to Joseph Ivy and Laura Hooley Anderson. He was raised in Statesboro and attended Steam Academy in Statesboro. He obtained his Bachelor degree from Georgia Southern and was employed by Alesco Lighting in Statesboro.
Joe was known for his musical ability – oftentimes singing in local events. He enjoyed his music, his quirky sense of humor, cooking for everyone and spending time with friends and family. But the ultimate love of his life was his beautiful young family - his wife Sarah Grace Newton Anderson, and his precious sons Arlo (age 5), Lukas (age 3) and Brody (age 1). Joseph was preceded in death by his father Joseph Ivy Anderson, Sr.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Grace Newton Anderson and his three young boys – Arlo, Lukas and Brody. Addition survivors are his mother Laura Hooley Anderson, a sister Amy Anderson Oglesby (Ross), nephews Connor Newton, Zeb Oglesby, nieces Emma Newton, Ellie Newton, Lily Oglesby, brothers/sisters in-law TJ/Amanda Newton, Amanda/Jessie Newton, Sawyer/Brittany Newton and his adopted parents Tommy and Kristi Newton.
A memorial service will be held on Monday at 5:00pm at Compassion Church in Statesboro. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers Sarah Grace asks that you bring a picture with a memory written on the back or even a note sharing a memory. Sarah Grace would one day like to share these with the boys.
