A Time to Be Born-Ecclesiastes 3:2

Rachel B. Hills was born on January 25, 1934, in Bryan County, Georgia to the late Edmond Sr. and Lucille Bulloch. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Louise Hills, four grandchildren; her brothers Edmond Bulloch, Felton Bulloch, Harkless Bulloch, Tom Bulloch, James Bulloch, Marion Bulloch, and sisters Ruth Groover, Sarah Harris, Mary Mincey, and Celia Smith. Rachel received her education in Bryan County.

A Time to Live-Isaiah 38:16

Rachel was united in holy matrimony to Louis Hills in 1951. They were married for 72 years. Together in this union they had six children. She was employed at the Bryan County High School until retirement.

A Time to Serve-Revelation 14:7

Rachel was a member of Athens First Christ Holiness Church under the pastorate of the Late Bishop E. K. Owens. There she served as the director and lead singer of the choir. She served faithfully until God called Elder Louis Hills to establish God’s Little Mission. She served as the State Mother of First Christ Holiness Church as well as the church mother at God’s Greater Mission. She believed in worshiping and praising God.

A Time to Die-Ecclesiastes 3:2

In the course of our jobs here, there comes a time that we have to rest from our labor, after enduring trials and tribulations. These trials and tribulations are both steppingstones and our passage to our heavenly joy. On Thursday, February 23, 2023, State Mother Rachel B. Hills stepped over into her “Heavenly Joy”. Blessed are they who are homesick for they shall come at last to their “Father’s House”.

She leaves to cherish her loving husband, Bishop Louis Hills of Pembroke, GA; two (2) daughters, Irma J. Hills of Pembroke, GA, and Linda G. (Myron) Walker of Statesboro; GA, three (3) sons, Cedric L. (Beatrice) Hills, Vernon B. Hills, and Shelton D. (Darlene) Hills all of Pembroke, GA; two (2) brothers, Clarence Bulloch of Pennsylvania, PA, and James (Ann) Smith of Savannah, GA; ten (10) sisters-in-law, Eloise Hills of Pembroke, GA, Ernestine Bulloch of Savannah, GA, Carrie Mobley & Almetia Sanders of Hinesville, GA, Dorothy Whitaker, Rosie Thomas, Vera Booth, Delores Hill, Cassandra (Kirt) Logan, and Vernellen Rauls all of Kingsland, GA; one (1) brother-in-law Calvin (Ervina) Hill of Kingsland, GA; two (2) spiritual daughters Apostle W. B. Jefferson and Keisha Davis; one (1) spiritual son, Dr. D. Houston, 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchildren, along with God’s Greater Mission Church Family and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Walk-through viewing will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 3:00p.m. - 6:00p.m. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel, 66 Ledford Street, Pembroke, GA.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00a.m. at Athens First Christ Holiness Church, 215 Athens Church Rd, Pembroke, GA 31321. Pastor Marion Stewart, Eulogist.

Internment will be at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 327 Mill Creek Church Rd, Ellabell, GA 31308.
