Mark Wilkes Morris, DMD, 56, of Chicago, Illinois, died of natural causes at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago on Sunday, February 25, 2024. A graveside service will be held at Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro, Georgia, on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 12:30 PM.
Mark was born in Statesboro, Georgia. After completing his undergraduate degree at Georgia Tech, he went on to graduate from dental school at the Medical College of Georgia in 1998. In 2003, choosing Lincoln Park, one of the most competitive and highly sought-after neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, Mark opened his first dental practice—Dental Salon. His practice quickly grew from three chairs to seven, then sixteen, and finally to nineteen chairs. Later, he went on to build a second practice in Illinois, as well as practices in Arizona and Texas. Dr. Morris was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Morris, and his brother, Jim Morris III.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Jimmy and Ruth Morris of Asheville, NC, his nephew, David Yacoubian, and four step-brothers: Larry, Walter, Randy, and Woody Jameson.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro. Graveside services and burial will take place at 12:30pm.
