With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynda Marie Pittman of Statesboro, Georgia on June 20, 2023 after 74 years of a life well lived.
Born November 2, 1948 to Vincent Manarin and Geraldine Stewart Manarin in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lynda was a strong optimist who wasn’t afraid of chasing her dreams. A 1966 graduate of St. Margaret’s Academy, she went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Lynda would go on to become a capable businesswoman who climbed the ranks despite opposition and later had the pleasure of running her own business. In 1988, she became a mother to Kimberly, who she loved fiercely. She was also a devoted grandmother of her jellybeans, Gabriel and Sarah, who were the lights of her life.
Preceded in death by her parents, survivors include her daughter Kimberly Pittman Carter and grandchildren Gabriel and Sarah Carter, her brothers and sisters in love David and Cheri Manarin, and Tom and Nancy Manarin, her sister Kathleen Manarin, her nieces Jennifer Hamilton, Jamie Keane, and Nicole Kimmel, and her nephews, Vince Manarin and Tony Manarin. Lynda also had several great nieces and nephews, and special lifetime friends, Ron Pittman, Lonnie Gentry, Lynnette Sorenson, and Jan Grest.
Memorial services for Ms. Pittman will be planned for later in the year in Minnesota, so that her friends and family may celebrate the life she lived.
