With sadness and compassion, Craig R. Tremble Funeral Homes, Inc, Statesboro Chapel, along with the Family, announce the passing of Mrs. Linda Ruffin Saxton Ferrell.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” II Timothy 4:7-8
Mrs. Linda Ruffin Saxton Ferrell was born August 26, 1959 to Robert and Elizabeth Ruffin in Screven County, Georgia. She was a 1978 graduate of Screven County High School.
She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Parker Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Brooks. She also occasionally loved to fellowship with her son, Brian at Agape Worship Center to hear him sing.
Linda was employed with Walmart, Belk, Cooper Tools and Briggs & Stratton where she worked for several years.
In September 1979, Linda married William Joe Saxton. God blessed this union with four beautiful children. On April 14, 2012, she married Earnest Ferrell.
In her leisure time, Linda enjoyed reading her bible, listening to gospel music, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. They were her world and greatest treasure.
Linda will be remembered for her giving nature and kind spirit by all who had the pleasure of knowing and experiencing her generosity.
On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, Linda quietly moved on to her last great adventure and traded labor for reward. It is said that there are three words in the English language that are more solemn than all of the others. They are life, death and eternity. We find comfort in knowing that a Christian death gives them a more abundant life.
As she begins her new journey of life, she will be greeted by her grandparents, Willie Hue Ruffin and Abbie Mae Gardner.
Her life, legacy and memory will be lived on by her husband, Earnest Ferrell; Augusta, GA; (4) loving children: Brian (Teresa) Saxton; Statesboro, GA, Brenton Saxton; Virginia, William Corey Saxton; Rockyford, GA, and Shatai Saxton; Sylvania, GA; her loving parents, Robert and Elizabeth Ruffin; Rockyford, GA; (2) loving sisters, Marilyn (James) Hilton; Statesboro, GA and Betty Carol Wiley; Dallas, TX; (4) brothers: Willie Hue (Dee) Ruffin; Lawrenceville, GA, Robert (Edaritha Eason) Ruffin, Jr., Frank (Jen) Ruffin and Kenneth Ruffin, Sr. all of Rockyford, GA; (5) loving grandchildren: Na’Varyah Cooper, Zayden Cooper, A'mere Saxton, Jaylen Williams and Cameron Saxton; (2) long-time friends, Apostle Beulah Budgett and Min.
