Mr. Howard Wayne Gawthrop, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, June 7th 2023 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Howard was born in Grafton, WV on February 3rd 1942 to the late Newlon P. Gawthrop and Juanita Weaver Gawthrop. He served in the United States Marine Corps, and while serving met his wife, Marie Elaine Gawthrop.
Howard is survived by his wife of 58 years Marie Gawthrop, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Jennifer Gawthrop and Justin and Danielle Gawthrop, his grandchildren, Hunter, Collin, Greyson, Austin, Lawson, Jaydin, Elijah, and Ella, and his brother and sister-in-law, George and Doreene Gawthorp.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12th at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glenville.
