Mr. George William “Billy” Sconyers, Jr., passed away at his residence on April 4, 2023.
Billy was born in Miami, FL to the late George William Sr., and Ora Belle Walden Sconyers. He was a postal manager for the United States Postal Service for 35 years, working across the country until his retirement in 2010. He was a lifetime Miami Hurricanes fan, Go ‘Canes! He was a member of the Sylvania First Baptist Church and loved his church family. He especially loved his children and grandchildren, and the time spend with them and his entire family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a Brother-in-Law Dennis Godbee and Sister-in-Law, Ellen Sconyers.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Lee Sconyers, children; George William, III, and Karen Sconyers, of St. Louis, MO, Adam and Sonja Sconyers of Washington State, Sean Hegeman, of Sylvania, siblings; Kathy Godbee, of Sylvania, Ronnie and Carol Sconyers of Denver, CO, Wayne Sconyers of Miami, FL, grandchildren, George William “Geo”, IV, Kagen, Nicki, Nathanial “Neno”, Joshua, Josiah, Judah, Abbie, Keilah, Asher, and Tryp Hegeman, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on April 15, 2023 at 12 noon in the chapel of Joiner Anderson.
