Mr. Charlie Jackson, Jr., passed into rest, Friday, February 24, 2023, at his residence. The native of Statesboro, was the son of the late Charlie and Edna Tremble Jackson.
He received his formal education in the Bulloch County School System.
Deacon “CJ” Jackson as he was affectionately known to many, served as a former deacon at the Thomas Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He worked for many years for the Bulloch Herald and Lewis Printing Company as a senior press operator.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Latimore Jackson and a son, George T. Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Charlie Jackson, III, Pastor Gwendolyn (Bishop Larry) Jones, Norris (Teresa) Jackson and Tharon Jackson all of Statesboro, GA and Curtis (Veronica) Jackson, Savannah, GA; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Jackosn, Statesboro, GA; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a special friend, Mary Martin, Statesboro, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing for Mr. Jackosn will be held, Tuesday afternoon, February 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
The funeral service for Mr. Charlie "CJ" Jackson, Jr., will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Whitesville Full Gospel Worship Center with the Rev. Maurice Hill, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
