Billy C. Hendrix

Billy C. Hendrix, age 69, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, surrounded by his family.

Billy was born in Savannah, GA on February 2nd 1955 to the late Lester Carroll Hendrix and Sara Kate Scarboro Hendrix. He was raised in the Aaron Station community in Bulloch County and owned and operated a landscaping business for many years. Before he was a family man, Billy’s passion was music and he was a drummer with several different bands. He also was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Billy loved spending time with his family was will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents, Charles and Essie Cowart Hendrix, and L.A. and Minnie Woods Scarboro.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Bonnie Powell Hendrix, his daughter and son-in-law, Alicia Molly and Danny Crapse, his son and daughter-in-law, Dexter Carroll and Megan Hendrix, his granddaughter, Ruby Kate Hendrix “Papa’s Love”, his mother-in-law, Helen Powell Novitsky (Tommy) and sister-in-law, Rebie Dixon (Steve), as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Friday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 1:00pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Gay and Elder Sam Bowen officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George Anthony Peterson, Kyle Williams, Russell Brantley, Stanley Brown, Jerry Williams, Joe Brown, and Clay McCullough. Honorary pallbearers will be Cade Rushing, Chad Busby, Hubble Beasley, Jayson Ellis, Blake Johnson, and Jay Brown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Queensboro Bank in Mr. Billy C. Hendrix’s name.
