Mrs. Betty Ruth Mimbs Sanders, age 85, of Uvalda, died Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her home, following an extended illness.  She was born on March 16, 1939, in Treutlen County, to the late Claude Mimbs and Mamie Frost Mimbs.  She grew up in Treutlen County, later living in the Rosemont Community there, and moved to Montgomery County in1958.  She retired after twenty years as rural letter carrier and was a member of the Uvalda Baptist Church.  She enjoyed bird watching, the beach, gardening, shopping, and spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Sammy Sanders; son, Scott Sanders; a twin brother to Scott; infant twin daughters; two sisters, Mary Ellen Mimbs and Ramona “Mona” Mimbs Hooks; and one brother, James “Jim” Mimbs.   

Her family includes one daughter, Pamela Sanders of Uvalda; one daughter-in-law, Tara Klein Sanders of Statesboro; three grandchildren, Jarrod Humphrey of Yulee, Florida, Adelind Sanders and Sela Sanders, both of Statesboro; one brother, Roy Mimbs and wife Debra of Montgomery County; three sisters, Shelby Mimbs Brantley Miller of Vidalia, Grace Mimbs Herndon and husband Elmer of Soperton, and Patricia “Trish” Mimbs McNeely of Metter, numerous nieces, nephews, and many special friends. 

The funeral service will be Saturday afternoon, September 28th, 2024, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey and Roy Mimbs officiating.  Burial will follow at the Uvalda City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Tony Brantley, Matt Corbitt, Ricky Hutcheson, Jim Johnson, Phillip Joyce, Dewayne “Dee” Mincey, and Francis Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers are Betty Clark, Joey Carpenter, Jim Paul Poole, T. Clark, Darriel Nobles, Larry Allen, Murray Barwick, Linda Holton, Donna Conner, Marvin Palmer, Helen Adams, Lavanda Lynn and Roger Rowland.
