For the eleventh consecutive year, Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch and United Way of Southeast Georgia are partnering for their annual Back to School Supply Drive—Stuff the Bus.

“With community support for this year’s schools supply drive, we can make sure that all students have the necessary school supplies for a successful school year,” said Lora Cooper, executive director of Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch.

Cooper went on to say, “We partner with the Bulloch County Board of Education staff to identify children in need of school supplies. All school supplies are given directly to each public elementary, middle, and high schools in Bulloch County so that school personnel can discreetly distribute the school supplies to the identified children.

Georgia is ranked 37th in the nation for child and family well-being in the 2024 Kids Count® (annual study done by the Annie E. Casey Foundation). This school supply drive is an opportunity for the community to work together to help change the state of child and family well-being here in Bulloch County.”

When you give from your heart — you get back so much more, and knowing you are helping a child succeed is a great return on your investment.”

School supplies will be collected from June 24th through July 16th.

Donated school supplies can be placed in the designated boxes at the following locations:

  • Chick Fil A (Northside Drive location)

Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch is a local council of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia and has been serving the Bulloch County community since 1988. Although the agency’s name has changed over the years, its commitment to preventing child abuse and neglect before it happens has not changed.

Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch is directly or indirectly touching a sizeable majority of the community by providing diapers for families in need through its Diaper/Basic Needs Bank, referrals to community resources for a family that is overwhelmed through its Resource Guide, school supplies for a child to have a great school year through its annual Back to School Supply Drive, or by providing much needed information on child development to a parent through its First Steps program. Each time that Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch's work touches an individual or family, not only is that individual or family strengthened--the entire community is strengthened.

One of the ways United Way's commitment to community enhancement and support is exemplified is through its partnership with Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch in the annual Back to School Supply Drive, an initiative they passionately support. By contributing to this drive, United Way helps ensure that every child begins the school year equipped with the necessary tools to succeed.

"Our involvement not only lightens the financial burden on families but also fosters an environment where children can thrive academically and emotionally. The drive embodies United Way's mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities, and our participation is driven by a shared belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of equal opportunities for all students." -- United Way of Southeast Georgia
