Statesboro Family Loses Home in Devastating Fire

A Statesboro family has been displaced after a house fire on Monday evening January 8, 2024.

Bulloch County 911 operators dispatched Statesboro and Bulloch Fire Departments at 7:39 pm to a fully involved house fire in the 200 block of Roundtree Street in the City of Statesboro.

Visible Flames and Smoke Reported at Single Story Wood Structure Home

The first engine to arrive confirmed visible flames and smoke coming from the single story wood structure home.  They requested additional engines and firefighters to assist in battling the fire.

Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire and had the fire knocked down and primarily blacked out within minutes.

They remained on the scene for over an hour making sure all of the hot spots were extinguished.  

The home suffered extensive fire, heat, smoke and water damage.

Bulloch County EMS Paramedics responded to the scene and evaluated the occupants of the home.  One child was transported by EMS to EGRMC with non-life threatening injuries.

Family Displaced After House Fire in Statesboro

The family of four are displaced due to the fire.  Statesboro Fire CAFE unit and the American Red Cross DAT team has been notified and will provide temporary assistance to the family.

Statesboro Police Department Officers responded to assist.

Statesboro Fire Department Investigators will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
