Jim Bennett and Rusty Skalla of Peachtree Development & Investments are opening their second of 13 planned franchises in Georgia and South Carolina, adding to a total of more than 250 Slim Chicken restaurants opened internationally.

“The City of Statesboro has been on our radar for numerous years”, Bennett said. “Having numerous team members from the general area as well as spending some time here for a variety of sporting events, we feel the culture with both the city and the college align perfectly with the Slim Chickens brand.”

Slim Chickens provides a fast-casual dining experience and the franchise owners are looking forward to being a part of the significant growth that Statesboro has accomplished over the last couple of years.

By focusing on providing only 100% fresh, all-natural chicken tenders that are buttermilk-marinated, hand-breaded and always cooked fresh-to-order, the brand has committed to provide a “better chicken” experience that can’t be found anywhere else.

Slim Chickens does more than just chicken tenders though, with plenty of options including their fresh sandwiches, wraps and Southern-inspired sides, plus a choice of 17 house-made sauces to add “exceptional” flavor. And don't forget about dessert, which will be served in mason jars, of course, for that extra special southern feeling.

“Our freshly made Southern dishes and homemade recipes create loyal guests who feel good about the food they’re eating and we’re proud to be able to grow our loyal fan base into the Statesboro market,” said Slim Chickens Chief Operating Officer Sam Rothschild.

The brand is hoping to expand to over 600 restaurants to spread that Southern goodness even further, and will be one step closer on February 26. For more information about the franchise, visit slimchickens.com.
