Williams Center
The renovated space will enhance student engagement efforts (programs, support, and mentoring) for the Statesboro campus. The current space is limited due to increased student enrollment through the years. There is an increased need of support from peer mentors and staff, as well as an increase in the diversity of the student population (racial, socioeconomic, first generation, etc.) This project will allow enhanced service by providing adequate, safe, and attractive space for these programs. This renovation will encourage students to spend time in the Williams Center; it will become a space where students find connection and support.
Memorial College Center
This renovation of the original student union on the Armstrong Campus has been renovated to provide collaborative space for several student life functions, to include Student Accessibility Resource Center, Multicultural Affairs, and Student Health & Wellness, Student Government and Student Media. The renovation included the second floor office spaces and enhancements to the main open air lobby and entryway.
New Georgia Southern Retail Initiatives
Delivered and installed on 8/2/23
Amazon Just Walk Out
Will launch this fall in the Russell Union and allow students to check in at the entrance and then shop and walk out of the store with their products without having to stop and "check out." It is one of the first ones in the country in a university setting in a c-store.
GrubHub
Program for off-campus is live and allows students, faculty, and staff to use Eagle Express funds to have food delivered or picked up anywhere in the country. This allows more delivery service to our campus community and allows for a percentage back in revenue to the university.
Southern Pride To-Go
A partnership with the Southern Pride Marching Band on Friday nights before home football games in which a GSU transit bus takes a pep band to local restaurants and performs for customers while University Store staff hand out gift certificates and GSU swag for fans.
