The 2025 Repack Your Backpack Event on Monday, January 20 celebrated over five years of serving the community by ensuring students have the tools they need to thrive.
This year, the event was elevated through a collaboration with the Bulloch County NAACP as part of the MLK Day of Service, further emphasizing its commitment to community and empowerment.
Hosted by Restoring the Breach and led by LaShai Campbell, the event was a resounding success, with more than 50 backpacks distributed to local students. The backpacks were filled with essential school supplies, helping to alleviate the burden on families and ensuring students are prepared for academic success.
A Collaborative Community Effort
The event’s success was made possible by the generosity and dedication of numerous organizations and volunteers, including:
- Amerigroup
- Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
- City of David Worship Assembly
- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
These groups came together to donate supplies, provide financial support, and volunteer their time to ensure the event ran smoothly.
Continuing a Legacy of Service
The Repack Your Backpack Event has become a cornerstone of the community, symbolizing hope, support, and opportunity. This year’s partnership with the Bulloch County NAACP for the MLK Day of Service further highlights the event's alignment with values of unity and progress.
“This event is about more than just school supplies,” says organizer LaShai Campbell. “It’s about equipping our youth with the confidence and resources they need to succeed.”
Looking Ahead
As the event continues to grow, Restoring the Breach and its partners remain dedicated to expanding their impact, ensuring that even more students are supported in the years to come.
