The Town of Register celebrated its inaugural "Register Pecan Festival" on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Countless locals lined the streets for an entire day of family fun. The event took place from 10am-4pm at 21 Main Street Register, GA. The cloudy day was completely overshadowed by the heartwarming smiles and laughter which filled the small-town streets.
The town of Register came out in full force to celebrate the momentous occasion of its first Pecan Festival. The festival was held in the spring, as opposed to fall, which is popularly known as pecan season, because “the trees are in full-bloom and gorgeous in May”.
Vendors, food trucks, and live musical breaks were present to complement the festive scene. Younger children also enjoyed the "Kid Zone" and hayrides, which were available to all in attendance.
In speaking with Register Pecan Festival Event Coordinator, Breanne Perry, she had these inaugural highlights to share.
"Countless attendees expressed to us how easy and organized the entire event was," Perry said. "Furthermore, many of our processes and proceedings successfully went according to plan. The Register Pecan Festival committee is extremely proud of how well our inaugural Pecan Festival came together.”
She continued, “We had a total of 88 vendors this year and are already planning to have more attractions for the festival next year.”
The organizing committee of the festival has many thanks to give.
"We would like to thank Register as a community for coming together and showing out for our first annual Register Pecan Festival. We would also like to thank the Register Baptist Church for being one of our biggest event contributors for the Pecan Festival this year," Perry said. "Additionally, several of the Register Baptist Church ladies came out to help with the event preparations and set-up this morning. We as a committee would like to thank them for their instrumental work!”
