This past weekend, RecycleFest 2024 showcased vendors that offered Bulloch County residents the opportunity to properly dispose of items in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
Charly Kinship, Coordinator of Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful (KSBB) said, “We had a great turn out at the 3rd Annual RecycleFest! We were blessed with energetic volunteers, refreshments offered by Unitarian Universalist Church, and information shared by other local environmental groups like the Tree Board and Greener Boro Commission.”
Kinship shared that due to the recycling vendors present they were able divert “several truck loads, a van load, and a trailer load of materials from the landfill.” Other usable items were dropped off at Christian Social Ministries. They also collected a large amount of cardboard that was given to local area farmers for gardening.
Vendors present were: GreenRock Recycling, PD Medication Drop-Off, Pittman Park UMC, Ecycle Atlanta, Sustain Southern, The Greener Boro Commission, and the City of Statesboro Tree Board.
Kinship said, “We hope to continue to grow this event as we intend to divert greater volumes and so we can diversify in the type of materials we can collect.”
