The survey team from the National Weather Service in Charleston has confirmed a small tornado northeast of Brooklet, GA, near the intersection of Clito Road and Brooklet-Leefield Road on the evening of Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The preliminary rating for the tornado is EF-0 with maximum winds of 80 mph. The storm touched down briefly from 7:08-7:09pm.
The storm then moved along to Effingham County, where preliminary reports indicate an EF-1 tornado touched down in Guyton from 7:27-7:35pm, along a 6.71 mile path.
No injuries or deaths were reported from either storm.
