Man shot in Statesboro apartment, suspect arrested

A man was shot inside a Brampton Avenue apartment in Statesboro on Friday evening following a personal dispute. The victim, who sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, was treated at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

On Friday evening August 2, 2024, Statesboro Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a shooting at an apartment in the 1100 block of Brampton Avenue.

Arriving at approximately 5:30pm, officers discovered an adult male with a single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his torso.

The victim was quickly transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment. At the hospital, he provided a statement to detectives regarding the incident.

SPD detectives have determined that the shooting resulted from a personal dispute. Nigel Green, a 23-year-old man from Dublin, Georgia, was arrested at the scene and charged with Aggravated Assault.
