Lydia Bragg named to OTC Board of Trustees

Ogeechee Technical College has welcomed Bragg, a seasoned educator with over 30 years of experience in K-12 and higher education, to its Foundation Board of Trustees, where her expertise in math instruction and educational leadership will contribute to the college's mission of supporting student success and community development.

Ogeechee Technical College welcomed Lydia Bragg to its Foundation Board of Trustees on October 14, 2024.

“Lydia’s 32-year career as a math teacher and a high school assistant principal will be an invaluable asset to our Board of Trustees,” said VP for College Advancement, Larry Mays. “Having experience in both K-12 and higher ed, she has an intimate knowledge of what hurdles our students face when pursing their educational goals.”  

Bragg, a native of Screven County, began her teaching career at Screven County High School after obtaining a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and a Minor in Business from Georgia Southern University.  She later obtained a Master's of Secondary Education from Georgia Southern and an Educational Specialist degree from Valdosta State University.

Bragg’s extensive teaching career involved 22 years as a math instructor at Screven County High School, two years as a math instructor at Georgia Southern University, and 8 years as an Assistant Principal at Screven County High School. Additionally, she served as a Department Chair at Screven County High School for several years and was voted Teacher of the Year twice in her career by her peers.
 
Bragg is married to her husband Mark and they have two adult sons Ethan and Nolan. Their family enjoys hunting and spending time on their land on the Ogeechee River. 
 
The Mission of the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation is to secure and administer monetary donations, grants, and other funds from constituents within its service delivery area to support Ogeechee Technical College in its quest to contribute to economic, educational, and community development by providing quality technical education and services, adult education, continuing education, and customized business and industry workforce training to the citizens of the communities it serves.
