It began with a Facebook post by Fostering Bulloch Hope Chest in Statesboro and turned into a welcome opportunity for families and individuals who want to trick-or-treat while bringing smiles to the faces of local nursing home residents.
If you want to know what nursing homes are welcoming trick-or-treaters, check their social media or the Grice Connect events calendar to see if the homes have shared times and availability. As a last resort you can call and ask if they are prepared for children to come trick-or-treating.
Nursing homes that have planned events inviting children will be sure to delight their residents and community members alike.
"If you take your kids trick or treating, please, take them to nearby Nursing Homes, they give out candy and the residents love to see the little kids in their costumes! PLEASE stop by and brighten their day. You have no idea how much this means to them ," stated a message on Fostering Bulloch's Facebook page.
We love this Fostering Bulloch Hope Chest! Thank you for encouraging us all to use this holiday to show some love to all the wonderful senior adults who have done so much for all of us!
