The Lambda Pi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, is hosting its Annual Youth Symposium and Swim1922 events for youth ages 12-18, on June 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Luetta Moore Park, located at 585 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Statesboro. The event includes lunch plus guest speakers, vendors, and community partners who want to positively impact the lives of youth in our community and area.
Parents and guardians may register their children online here. The last day to register is Tuesday, June 20.
The Annual Youth Symposium is designed to highlight some of the prevalent concerns that impact youth such as drugs, low self-esteem, suicide, financial literacy, human trafficking, and more.
Swim1922 is a water safety event that is part of the national partnership between Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated and USA Swimming. USA Swimming is the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States, including the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team. Swim1922 is designed to strengthen USA Swimming's commitment to diversity and inclusion. It seeks to remove barriers, increase access and exposure, increase swim participation and decrease drowning rates.
