House fire damages home in Chances Trailer Park

Statesboro and Bulloch County Fire Departments responded to a house fire that broke out on Monday afternoon in Chances Trailer Park, located off Highway 301 North in Bulloch County, GA.

The emergency call was made to Bulloch County 911, which dispatched the Statesboro Fire Department and Bulloch County Fire Department to the scene at 6:45 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024.

The fire, believed to have started in the kitchen of the modular home, resulted in significant damage to the residence. Upon arrival, the first responders and firefighters observed light smoke emanating from the structure and immediately called for additional fire engines and firefighters to assist.

Engaging in a rapid and forceful interior attack, the firefighters were able to swiftly extinguish the flames. They continued their efforts on the scene for over an hour, addressing any remaining hot spots to ensure the fire was completely out.

In response to the incident, Bulloch County EMS also arrived at the location to evaluate one of the occupants of the home. Fortunately, no transportation was required following the assessment.

A thorough cause and origin investigation is set to be conducted to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the fire. The collaborative efforts of the emergency responders helped prevent further escalation of the situation and ensured the safety of the residents in the trailer park.
