Eat, drink and be merry! Enhanced events for all are happening at the Botanic Garden at Georgia Southern University in Fall 2024!

The Garden features over 11 acres of beautiful ladnscape on the early 20th century farmstead of Dan and Catharine Bland. It's is a lovely place to connect with nature and to gain knowledge and appreciation of the native plants of the southeastern coastal plain. The Garden offers woodland/walking trails, a landscape garden, Azalea collections, a butterfly garden, the Children's Garden, and a complex of 20th century farm buildings.

And this fall, it's also offering a bevy of exciting and educational events for all.

“Eat, drink and be merry -- plus learn, be inspired, motivated, and informed about the role of plants around you. That is our unspoken model as we begin to look forward towards the end of summer and the fall planting season,” said Dr. Todd Beasley, Garden Director. “We will celebrate the changing of seasons and the near end of the meteorological summer with a beer tasting and pig roast and the excitement of the upcoming ‘Gather and Grow’ sessions, bringing in the true story of plants and specific gateways into your life.”

As the summer days wind down, join the Garden for laidback evenings under the stars featuring “history, honey, sugar, bourbon, the Devil's Walkingstick and Hercules' Club. All strange plant concepts, but all are intertwined into our events from Hops and Hawgs, to the plant sale, and Gather & Grow,” concluded Beasley.
