Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County is excited to announce the expansion of its Business Flag Program, aimed at beautifying and fostering community pride in downtown Statesboro. After the success of previous seasons, Habitat Bulloch is inviting more local businesses to participate in this impactful initiative.

The Business Flag Program, now entering its third year, plays a crucial role in supporting Habitat for Humanity's mission to provide affordable housing to low-income families in Bulloch County. By displaying large US and Georgia Southern flags throughout downtown, participating businesses not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area but also contribute directly to Habitat Bulloch's efforts.

"This expansion marks an exciting opportunity for businesses in Statesboro to showcase their community spirit and support a worthy cause," said Kathy Jenkins, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County. "We invite all local businesses to join us in branding Statesboro’s business districts and making a meaningful impact in our community."

The upcoming business flag season will commence with the distribution of Georgia Southern flags before the first home football game on August 31st, 2024, and will continue through Independence Day, July 4th, 2025.

Each participating business that donates $100 will receive Georgia Southern flags for six home football games, Fall and Spring Commencement Days, and potentially a bowl game.

Additionally, businesses will receive US flags for significant national holidays including Patriots Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Juneteenth, and Independence Day. Detailed information on flag distribution dates can be found in the program materials.

"We encourage businesses to not only participate financially but also consider volunteering to help with flag installation and removal," added Jenkins. "Your involvement not only promotes your business but also directly supports our efforts to provide stable housing solutions for local families."
