GALLERY | Cole Goodwin closes out Downtown Live with country tunes on a cool evening

Rising country star and Georgia Southern grad Cole Goodwin and his band played the perfect ending to the summer concert series in the Boro on Thursday, September 12.

The rain clouds cleared and the temperature dropped to create the perfect evening for the final Downtown Live concert of the summer on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Statesboro.

Pooler native and recent Georgia Southern grad Cole Goodwin brought some good energy to downtown with a full band and a combination of original songs like Whiskey Weather and well-known country favorites from artists like Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan.

The band included bassist Avery Willis from Statesboro, drummer Casey Yarbrough from Claxton, pedal steel guitarist Shawn Altman from Pine Mountain, and electric guitarist Jon Paul Green from Macon.

They wrapped the show at 9pm with an original, "Down in the Country," that had everybody on East Main yellin' yeehaw.

This summer, Grice Connect was proud to join other local businesses as a corporate sponsor for the 2024 Downtown Live concert series. These concerts bring our community together in remarkable ways. Having a vibrant downtown is critical to our community's continued success and is an important part of Grice Connect's mission to help CONNECT our community.

Enjoy the photo gallery of the concert. You might even spot yourself, a friend, or a neighbor having the time of their life downtown!

The Downtown Live Statesboro Concert Series was presented by the City of Statesboro and Bulloch Solutions with the support of community partners including Visit Statesboro, the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, and the Averitt Center for the Arts.
