The Friends of the Library Bookstore is looking for volunteers!

Volunteer responsibilities include:

  • sort books into fiction and non-fiction
  • alphabetize and shelve books
  • make change for cash purchases
  • process credit/debit card purchases

Volunteer days are Friday and Saturday. Shifts typically last 4 hours.

Pat Homer of the Friends of the Library hopes with more volunteers it could lead to being open another day during the week. Currently, they are open Friday and Saturday only from 9am-1pm.

Staffed by volunteers, the library typically relies on Friends of the Library members for assistance. Homer says she would love to have some younger members or new retirees looking to stay involved in our community.

The Friends of the Library Bookstore has been open since the fall 2021. Since then, the bookstore has become a book lover's favorite in our community. With a recent colorful update to the outside of the store by artist Lawrence Smith, FOL hopes to draw more readers into the store. All ages will enjoy browsing the wide selection of books from children's and adult books to nonfiction, cookbooks, and more.

To volunteer, or for more information, contact FOL at [email protected].

You can also follow their Facebook page for regular updates.
