Forsyth Farmers’ Market to Host Free “A Taste of African Heritage” Cooking Classes on April 25, May 30 & June 27

The Forsyth Farmers’ Market will host free “A Taste of African Heritage” cooking classes on April 25, May 30 and June 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center, located at 425 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Forsyth Farmers’ Market, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Savannah, Ga. that organizes south Georgia’s largest farmers’ market, supports local sustainable farming and expands community access to fresh, healthy food through innovative year-round programs.

The Forsyth Farmers’ Market, through a special partnership with Oldways, will continue to offer free “A Taste of African Heritage” cooking classes this spring.

These immersive, hands-on cooking classes are designed to celebrate the rich heritage of African cuisine and to promote health-conscious dishes that are deeply rooted in tradition. Attendees will engage in discussions about the cultural significance of the ingredients, learn culinary techniques and take the time to eat, share and reflect.

“A Taste of African Heritage” cooking classes are free and open to the public. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. At the time of registration, please list any food allergies.
